Pacman Makes Music Video Debut

In anticipation of Pixels, the new movie based on classic arcade titles premiering July 24th, rapper Waka Flocka Flame and punk band Good Charlotte released a music video for their track “Game On,” which will be on the movie soundtrack. Guess who makes an appearance in the video for the high energy track? That’s right, Pac-man. Featuring scenes from the movie along with clips of the artists performing, the “Game On” music video gives potential Pixels moviegoers a preliminary taste of the film. Hint: there’s a lot of action. The rush of energy felt when a gamer is on the brink of conquering the next level on their Pacman arcade machine? The same rush is soon to come for those film viewers who settle down in their theater seat and go on the rollercoaster ride that is Columbia Pictures’ Pixels.

Scenes from the Music Video

While characters from Frogger, Space Invaders and other classic titles attack Earth with a vengeance, the giant-sized Pac-man may be the most formidable opponent for Adam Sandler and his team of arcade fighters. Pac-man is shown chasing motorcycles, cars and people down city streets, gobbling up pavement, buildings and parking garages that obstruct its path. Will the defenders of Earth stop the carnage in time?

Columbus is the Director for the Job

Chris Columbus, the chosen leader of the summer blockbuster, previously directed other action-packed films complete with gripping story lines. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lightning Thief are a few of his most notable recent works. Let’s not forget he also directed Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire, and wrote for The Goonies. He is a director with eyes and ears that know what family audiences love and revisit for years. Based on his involvement alone, many may agree that Pixels is the movie to schedule for the annual summer family theater or drive-in night this July.
