Minecraft: Story Mode is Coming Soon to Amazon

One of the most popular games of the past few years, with enough visibility to rival even the most talked-about classic arcade machines in the Golden Age of Arcade Games, is morphing yet again into another format: story mode. Coming October 27, Amazon is offering Minecraft: Story Mode on multiple gaming platforms, including PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Android and iOS and the title will cost $30. The game will be available in Europe three days later on October 30. The rise of the Minecraft brand has not slowed since the game’s first release in 2009.

Minecraft Revenue

In total, Minecraft has sold over 70 million copies. In 2015, PC versions of the game topped the 20 million sales mark. The game has sold over 30 million copies on mobile platforms. Microsoft acquired Mojang, the game’s development company in November 2014 for over $2 billion. While many investors claimed the price was too high, Microsoft will reportedly regain its investment by the end of the year. With Story Mode set to premier and a Minecraft movie in the works, Microsoft has the naysayers backtracking on their proclamations as revenue continues to soar.

What Will Story Mode Offer?

If you enjoyed reading a “create your own storyline” book as a kid, you’ll appreciate the freedom and self-direction involved in Minecraft: Story Mode since the gamer decides their fate based on decisions made within the game. How your character interacts with others, down to the tone in which they say something, will make the game’s plotline unique. Players will be able to create their own unique items based on objects picked up in the game. You can decide if your character is male or female and design their appearance. Many renowned voice actors will be featured in the game, including Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter and more.

If you aren’t into creating your own storyline on Minecraft: Story Mode, chances are a gaming kid you’re related to or know does. Look for your copy on Amazon by the end of next month.
